SteelSeries is one of the top peripheral makers in the PC gaming space, and it is introducing a new gaming mouse for its loyal audience. The Rival 110 is $40, and it features one-to-one input for gamers looking for complete precision in their mouse.

The Rival 110’s big feature is its TrueMove1 optical sensor. This is the more affordable — and slightly less capable — version of the TrueMove3 sensor that SteelSeries put into its Rival 310 mouse for esports professionals. Like Razer (with the Deathadder Elite) and Logitech (with the G Pro), SteelSeries has worked with PixArt, one of the major optical sensor manufacturers, to develop its own exclusive sensor. In this case, the goal was to reduce latency and jitter while providing pixel-perfect tracking.

“We continue to innovate in sensor tracking technology with the expansion of our TrueMove line of sensors with the TrueMove1 in the Rival 110,” SteelSeries mouse and keyboard boss Jason Christian said. “This is the first time that gamers can experience true one-to-one, esports tracking with a smaller form-factor and at a very welcoming price.”

When SteelSeries says it has one-to-one tracking, that means every motion you make with the mouse will end up on the screen. It can support that spot-on tracking without having to rely on jitter reduction up to a CPI (counts per inch) of 3,500.

Here’s how SteelSeries puts it:

“TrueMove1 is a 7,200 CPI, 240 IPS optical sensor built exclusively with industry leader PixArt. Instead of focusing on CPI alone, TrueMove1 was engineered for true one-to-one tracking. Moving a specific distance on a mousepad results in the same exact distance on screen, without introducing latency, any interpolation, or affecting jitter reduction.”

You can find similar PixArt sensors in competing gaming mice where one-to-one tracking doesn’t need help up through CPIs of 2,000. So the Rival 110 is ideal for people who play at a high CPI and want an affordable and reliable gaming mouse.
